Lighter Feathers

Dear Readers,

Oftentimes, birds like to fly in a flock. They follow the direction of their peers.

It can be easier and more convenient to move where others go, or to seek guidance.

The feeling of indecision can be uncomfortable when we do not know where to go or how to handle a situation; this uncertainty can add weight to our shoulders. So, we often turn to peers.

Birds following the crowd may feel lighter, as if their feathers do not carry as much weight.

Humans, on the other hand, are more complicated. We have a heart, soul, thoughts, experiences, etc. that influence our path.

While it can be helpful to receive guidance from peers, it is beneficial to move in the direction that you would like and is best for you.

I think many people are sometimes scared to do what they want because they worry what others think, that they are doing the wrong thing, or the risks involved in decisions they make.

But at the end of the day, you are living your life, and you might as well live it for you and what your heart and mind desire.

No one can tell you what you want and how you want to live your life; only you get to decide what is best for you.

While you may think that following others will take weight off your shoulders, you might feel even lighter when you follow your heart.

Love,

Samantha
