Energy

Dear Readers,

Through the process of photosynthesis, trees get their energy from sunlight and water. The sun seeps into their leaves and the rain replenishes them so that they can grow and flourish.

Where do you get your energy from?

I think many people get their energy from others, which makes sense as energy can be contagious and we often feed off of each other.

However, I think it is important to find energy from within. Many external energy sources are fleeting and can leave us feeling depleted. Many of us become so reliant on others that we cannot hold strong or grow on our own.

If we find meaningful aspects of life that give us a sense of purpose and drive, we will feel more energized and fulfilled.

This may include finding activities that we enjoy, spending time in nature, journaling, going for walks, reading, exercising, and getting work done, which may give us even more energy than others sometimes.

You cannot flourish or show up for others if you do not feel whole and grounded within. If a tree felt hollow within, it would become imbalanced and fall over, and it therefore needs substance to hold strong.

Strong relationships are pivital, but at the end of the day, you need to have a sense of independence and not rely on others for your mood, energy, or sense of purpose. If you become too reliant on external forces, you may find yourself unable to withstand periods of drought or lack of sunlight.

Learn to find what gives you energy in life and a sense of fulfillment that does not involve others. This way, you will stand tall, keep your branches reaching and flourishing, and be able to withstand the seasons of changes and challenges in life on your own.

Choose your energy sources wisely.

Love,
Samantha
